1. **Qur’an Source:**
**Surah Al-Hashr, Surah 59, Ayah 7**
**Translation:**
Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it. And whatever he forbids you from, leave it. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.
**Simple Meaning:**
This ayah tells us to follow the Prophet ﷺ.
Hadith Qudsi is special because the meaning is from Allah, but the wording is from the Prophet ﷺ.
2. **Hadith Source:**
Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 7405, Sahih
**Hadith Meaning:**
قالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ إِذَا ذَكَرَنِي
Allah the Most High said: I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me.
**Simple Explanation:**
This is a Hadith Qudsi.
It teaches us something beautiful from Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ told us Allah’s words, but it is not Qur’an.
3. **What is Hadith Qudsi?**
- **Hadith Qudsi** means a hadith where the **meaning is from Allah**.
- But the **words are from the Prophet ﷺ**.
- It is **not Qur’an**.
4. **How is it different from Qur’an?**
- **Qur’an** is the exact كلام of Allah.
- **Qur’an** is recited in الصلاة.
- **Qur’an** is protected as the miracle of Islam.
- **Hadith Qudsi** is not recited like Qur’an in prayer.
- **Hadith Qudsi** does not have the same status as Qur’an.
5. **How is it different from normal hadith?**
- **Normal hadith** is the Prophet ﷺ speaking, teaching, or doing something.
- **Hadith Qudsi** is special because it carries a message from Allah.
- So it is between Qur’an and normal hadith in meaning, but it is still **not Qur’an**.
6. **Easy example with toys**
- **Qur’an** is like the exact message written by the king himself.
- **Hadith Qudsi** is like the king’s message told by his messenger in his own words.
- **Normal hadith** is like the messenger teaching you something he said or did.
7. **Which is strongest?**
- The **strongest source** is **Qur’an**.
- After that, **authentic hadith** are very strong.
- **Hadith Qudsi** can be strong too if its chain is authentic.
- But **Qur’an is highest**, and **Hadith Qudsi is still not Qur’an**.
8. **Scholars’ Explanation**
- **Imam al-Nawawi** explained that Hadith Qudsi is from Allah in meaning, but not in Qur’anic wording.
- **Ibn Hajar al-‘Asqalani** also showed that Hadith Qudsi is honored, but it is still not recited as Qur’an.
- So we love it and learn from it, but we do not treat it like Qur’an.
**Takeaway:**
Hadith Qudsi is special because its meaning is from Allah, but it is still not Qur’an.
So the strongest source is still the Qur’an.
Allah knows best.
